Fresh drama has reportedly emerged following the death of Nollywood star Alex Ekubo, after a popular blogger claimed some individuals allegedly tried to drag the late actor’s wife and family into a damaging controversy.

The shocking revelation has sparked massive reactions online, with several Nollywood stars openly praising the blogger for refusing to publish what were described as unverified and potentially harmful allegations.

According to the blogger, people allegedly connected to Alex Ekubo’s extended circle reached out with requests to publish serious claims against those closest to the late actor. However, after reviewing the information presented, the blog said it found no sufficient basis to present the allegations as facts.

Rather than fuel more controversy, the blogger said conscience prevailed over traffic and headlines, insisting it would not contribute to further hurting a grieving family or tarnishing anyone’s reputation without credible evidence.

The statement quickly went viral across social media, drawing praise from several celebrities.

Actress Ini Edo reacted with a salute and flower emoji in support of the blogger’s decision, while Bimbo Ademoye affectionately referred to the blogger as “My mamabear.”

Blessing Obasi also applauded the move, writing, “Bless your heart,” while former BBNaija star Queen Mercy Atang praised the blogger for always taking time to verify information before sharing it publicly.

Alex Ekubo passed away in May 2026 after a battle with advanced metastatic kidney cancer at the age of 40. His burial drew an outpouring of emotions as colleagues, friends and family gathered to pay their final respects to the beloved Nollywood actor.
