Nigerian gospel music producer Eezee Tee has set social media ablaze after making shocking claims about the state of the gospel music industry, alleging that all is not as holy as it appears behind the scenes.
The music executive, whose name has been linked to several high-profile controversies in recent years, claimed the industry many people see as a place of faith is instead filled with hypocrisy, pretence and hidden battles. His comments have triggered intense reactions online, with many agreeing while others accused him of trying to shift attention from his own controversies.
In a strongly worded post on Instagram, Eezee Tee alleged that the gospel music industry is “darker” than most people imagine. According to him, the industry is driven more by performance than genuine spirituality, adding that many insiders are fully aware of what happens but choose to remain silent. These are his personal allegations and have not been independently verified.
He further claimed that anyone who dares to challenge wrongdoing within the industry often becomes a target of attacks and criticism.

While some users agreed with his observations, others questioned his motives, with critics pointing to his previous public dispute with gospel singer Mercy Chinwo.
One commenter wrote, “He is saying the truth.”
Another reacted, “I hope this isn’t another way to avoid accountability.”
Others accused him of being part of the very system he was now criticising.
Eezee Tee’s latest remarks come less than a year after his highly publicised legal and contractual dispute with former label artiste Mercy Chinwo.
The producer had accused the award-winning singer of attempting to take over music rights belonging to his record label despite allegedly receiving substantial earnings during their working relationship.
Mercy Chinwo, however, rejected the allegations and publicly claimed their relationship became toxic over time. She accused the producer of verbal and emotional intimidation and said she eventually decided to leave the label after enduring years of difficulties.
The fallout between both parties remains one of the biggest controversies to hit Nigeria’s gospel music industry in recent years, making Eezee Tee’s latest comments even more controversial.
