Nollywood actor Kunle Remi has once again voiced his frustration over the state of the nation, delivering a blunt message that has sparked conversations across social media.

The actor took to his Instagram page to express concern about the worsening security situation in Nigeria, declaring that while other countries battle natural disasters, Nigerians are battling what he described as a “government disaster.”

His emotional post comes amid growing concern over the prolonged captivity of schoolchildren and teachers reportedly abducted in Oyo State, with the actor questioning why decisive action has yet to be taken.

Kunle lamented that more than a month after the abduction, the victims were still being held, while their families continued to live in fear and uncertainty. He also criticised the country’s security situation, alleging that armed criminals appear to move freely despite the presence of security agencies.

“Other parts of the world have natural disasters. Nigeria has a government disaster,” he wrote.

In another post, the actor said it had been 40 days since the students and their teachers were kidnapped, yet many families remain heartbroken while the victims are still away from home instead of being safely back in their classrooms.

He questioned how long Nigerians would continue to watch such tragedies unfold without meaningful action, asking what exactly the country is waiting for.

This is not the first time Kunle Remi has spoken out on national issues. Last month, he criticised the country’s political atmosphere, noting that election campaigns were already gathering momentum while many Nigerians continued to grapple with insecurity and hardship.

Earlier this year, during President Bola Tinubu’s birthday, the actor also shared a message expressing hope that Nigeria’s leaders would one day truly understand and feel the weight of the challenges ordinary citizens face daily.
