Afrobeats superstar Davido has explained why he has been actively involved in activities surrounding the Osun State governorship election despite recently releasing a new album.

The singer has been vocal in support of his uncle, Governor Ademola Adeleke, in the build-up to the election and has also responded to critics attacking the governor.

Speaking during a recent rally in Osun State, Davido acknowledged that he had just released an album but explained that he felt compelled to return to the state because of his concern for his people.

According to the music star, he wanted to personally see and understand what was happening in the state rather than rely solely on what he hears from others.

Davido stressed that his involvement was driven by genuine concern for the people of Osun State.

“I just dropped my album, but I had to come down and focus on Osun State so I could see the situation myself because I genuinely care about my people.”

The singer’s continued involvement in the election has generated significant attention, particularly because of his close relationship with Governor Adeleke.

Davido has also recently appealed for a peaceful and credible election, urging those in positions of influence to allow the people of Osun to freely choose their preferred candidates.

His latest comments further highlight his decision to put his political concerns in Osun ahead of promoting his newly released album.
