Nollywood actress Nkechi Blessing Sunday has shared her thoughts on the pressure surrounding the lifestyle associated with Lagos “big girls,” following the recent public fallout between Diiadem and Dabota Lawson.

The actress made it clear that she has never been interested in proving herself through an extravagant lifestyle or associating with people simply because of their social status.

In a post shared on social media, Nkechi questioned why some people are desperate to become friends with self-acclaimed Lagos big girls.

According to her, some lifestyles seen online are largely based on aesthetics, and people may be surprised by the reality when they get close.

She wrote:

“Na una want to be friends with self-acclaimed Lagos big girls by force, people wey be say na online aesthetic want wound them, the moment you go close you go too pity them.”

The actress described herself as an “American broke girl,” explaining that she is satisfied as long as she can afford food and plane tickets to travel.

Nkechi also said she does not compare herself with people who appear wealthier than her.

“Who get pass me no concern me.”

Nkechi added that she enjoys her privacy and personal space, making her uninterested in the pressure to belong to a particular social circle.

She also joked that people often mistake her lack of displaying an extravagant lifestyle online for being broke.

“Cos we no dey post lifestyle dem go call us broke.”

The actress’s comments come amid the ongoing social media drama involving Diiadem and Dabota Lawson, whose former friendship has recently degenerated into a series of public accusations and counter-accusations.
