The family drama surrounding the late Nollywood legend Mr Ibu has taken another emotional twist as his widow, Stella Marris, finally breaks her silence over explosive allegations made against her by one of the actor’s sons.

Fighting back tears during an emotional interview, Stella denied claims that she secretly sold the late actor’s properties and kept the proceeds for herself. Her response comes days after her stepson publicly accused her of disposing of several family assets and allegedly squandering millions of naira.

The accusations sparked heated reactions across social media, with many Nigerians demanding answers after Stella earlier appealed for financial assistance, revealing that she and her children were struggling to survive without electricity and basic necessities.

Determined to set the record straight, Stella insisted that every property sale followed a legal process and was carried out with the agreement of other members of Mr Ibu’s family, stressing that she never acted alone.

According to Stella, the sale of one of the late actor’s village properties was approved after discussions with his children. She explained that the ₦17 million realised from the transaction was used to finance Mr Ibu’s burial expenses.

She further disclosed that a court had already shared the late actor’s estate among the rightful beneficiaries, adding that she and Mr Ibu’s two sons jointly agreed before any property was sold. Stella maintained that the court ruled she was entitled to one-third of the estate as Mr Ibu’s legally recognised wife.

The widow also made another surprising revelation, claiming that throughout their marriage, the late comic actor never informed her that he had been previously married or had children from earlier relationships.

Meanwhile, influencer King Mitchy, who interviewed Stella, revealed that compassionate Nigerians have already donated about ₦7.6 million to support the late actor’s family following their public appeal.

The controversy began after one of Mr Ibu’s sons alleged that Stella sold several of the actor’s properties worth millions of naira and questioned what happened to the funds. Movie producer Stanley Ontop also joined the debate by demanding accountability over the late actor’s estate and previous public donations.
