Popular TikToker Peller’s mother has sparked reactions online after she was accused of asking her son to give money to her alleged partner during his wedding reception.

The incident reportedly happened during Peller’s lavish Lagos wedding and has generated mixed reactions among social media users.

Media personality Daddy Freeze, however, has defended Peller’s mother, arguing that there was nothing wrong with the gesture.

Peller gifts family members dollar bills

During the wedding reception, Peller brought out a box containing bundles of dollar bills and began sharing the money with members of his family.

The content creator first presented cash gifts to his parents-in-law before giving bundles of money to his own mother and father.

According to an X user who shared the video, Peller’s mother allegedly asked him to also give some money to a man identified as Oji, whom the user described as her partner.

X user criticises Peller’s mother

The social media user questioned the decision, saying the incident did not sit well with him.

He claimed that after Peller had given money to his mother and parents-in-law, his mother whispered to him, asking him to also give money to Oji.

The user wrote:

“Peller’s mum did something at his wedding that I honestly didn’t like, and I pray for protection and more wisdom for that boy.

“After Peller had given his mum and his parents-in-law money, he went back to the box to pick money to give his dad. While he was doing that, his mum was whispering to him, ‘Fun Oji na, fun Oji na,’ meaning, ‘Give Oji too.’

“Now, who is Oji? Oji is her new husband-to-be, and he was sitting right there at the same table with them.

“Peller had to go back to the box again to take some cash for him.

“I don’t know, but something about that didn’t sit right with me. There should be a level of restraint, especially when it comes to your child’s money. May God protect Peller and give that boy more wisdom and understanding.”

Daddy Freeze defends Peller’s mother

Reacting to the criticism, Daddy Freeze said he saw nothing wrong with Peller honouring his mother’s partner during the celebration.

He argued that if the man is dating or intending to marry Peller’s mother, he could eventually become Peller’s stepfather.

Daddy Freeze wrote:

“PELLER did the right thing. Person wey dey date or wan marry ur mama na ur step papa.

“He honored his mother. Flip the tables. If it was the step dad that was rich and he gave PELLER money, would uu complain? En WOMANBEING?”

Daddy Freeze’s response has since triggered further reactions, with social media users divided over whether Peller’s mother was right to ask her son to extend the cash gift to her alleged partner.
