Nigerian businessman and crypto entrepreneur Linus Williams, popularly known as BLord, has reflected on the challenges of building wealth without the advantage of being born into a wealthy family.
In a video shared online, the entrepreneur acknowledged the benefits enjoyed by people who were born into established families but said those who started from nothing deserve recognition for their efforts.
‘Maximum respect to those born with a silver spoon’
BLord congratulated people who were born into wealthy families, noting that their parents had already created a strong foundation for them.
“Maximum respect to those born with a silver spoon. Those wey be say their father don put everything in place for them. Na una luck, congratulations,” he said.
According to him, having an established family business, property or financial resources provides a major head start in life.
‘We have really tried’
The businessman then compared that experience with people who had to build everything themselves.
“But you people like us, wey be say na we start the foundation ourselves, God needs to give us our own special space in heaven because we have really tried,” BLord said.
Using a building as an analogy, he explained that some people inherit a structure where their parents have already bought the land, laid the foundation and built the property.
“But we? Even the land na we buy am ourselves, begin the foundation,” he added.
BLord prays for those without wealthy backgrounds
BLord also offered a prayer for people who were not born into privileged families.
“So to all my brothers wey dem no born with silver spoon, may God bless your hard work in Jesus name. Amen,” he said.
He explained that he is still working to create a better foundation for his own children.
“Today is Monday. I’m going to work. I’m still building for my children. As dem no build for me, make I build for my children,” he stated.
His comments have sparked conversations online about self-made success, inherited wealth and the different starting points people have in life.
