Cynthia Obi-Uchendu, wife of media personality and Big Brother Naija host Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, has boldly addressed criticism over her personal style, making it clear she won’t bend to public expectations.
In a candid chat on the Beyond with Ezinne podcast, Cynthia revealed that people often comment on her dressing simply because she’s married to one of Nigeria’s most stylish celebrities. But she is unapologetic:
“People complain about my dressing because I’m married to Ebuka. I will not change myself because I’m married to Ebuka.”
Cynthia emphasised authenticity over trends, noting that she’s “never cared to be a fashion girl” and instead values comfort, grace, and self-awareness over societal labels.
The couple tied the knot in 2016, beginning with a traditional ceremony in October 2015, followed by a white wedding in February 2016 in Abuja, which captivated national attention. They recently celebrated their 10th wedding anniversary with a romantic surprise re-proposal from Ebuka in Rome and Vatican City.
As a mother of two daughters, Cynthia reflected on navigating online scrutiny, motherhood, and life in the public eye. She shared that living authentically and staying true to oneself brings calm confidence, even amid expectations and judgments.
