Nigerian social media activist Martins Vincent Otse, better known as VeryDarkMan, has announced his decision to withdraw from the ongoing dispute involving members of the P-Square family.
The activist made the decision amid mounting criticism from netizens who had urged him to stay out of the family dispute.
VeryDarkMan had come under fire over his defence of Jude Okoye and his comments concerning allegations made by Peter Okoye against his twin brother, Paul Okoye, and their elder brother, Jude.
The controversy intensified after Peter presented evidence relating to the long-running family dispute, with several Nigerian and international celebrities publicly throwing their weight behind him.
Liberian actor Frank Artus was also among those who criticised VeryDarkMan’s involvement, urging him to stay away from the Okoye family matter.
VeryDarkMan explains his position
In a recent statement, VeryDarkMan clarified his position on the dispute, admitting that he did not believe Jude Okoye was completely innocent.
He said:
“I just want to make one point about this P-Square thing. I see a lot of people saying VDM, you are sounding as if Jude did not have a fault in all of this. As if Jude is innocent and Peter is just saying all of this without trigger.
“Well, personally, after listening to Jude and Peter, if you ask me who to put the blame on, I will say I will put 40 percent of the blame on Jude, and I put 30 percent of the blame on Peter, and another 30 percent on the wife, the family and everybody.
“And to the people insulting me, it is not a crime. You can insult people. Now there’s balance in views in the P-Square matter.”
Despite previously weighing in on the controversy, VeryDarkMan subsequently made it clear that he would no longer involve himself in the P-Square family saga.
VDM shifts attention to police matter
The activist also disclosed that he would now focus on preparing to appear before a police panel over his allegations against AIG Jimoh Moshood.
His decision comes as the P-Square controversy continues to generate intense debate online, with fans and celebrities taking different sides in the long-running family dispute.
