A woman has taken to social media to defend singer Peter Okoye amid the ongoing controversy surrounding the P-Square family, urging social media activist VeryDarkMan to allow the musician to tell his side of the story.
In a viral video, the woman claimed she was the person who contacted Peter Okoye after allegedly losing $60,000 to a scam while she was pregnant.
According to her, she reached out to the singer in distress and pleaded with him to intervene by contacting VeryDarkMan, whom she believed could assist her with the matter.
Woman recounts alleged $60,000 scam
The woman claimed she was pregnant when she allegedly fell victim to the $60,000 scam and said the situation left her emotionally distressed.
She explained that she contacted Peter and pleaded with him to help her reach VeryDarkMan.
According to her, Peter agreed to intervene and speak with the social media activist on her behalf.
She said she had records relating to the incident and intended to attach them to her video to support her account.
The woman alleged that despite Peter’s attempt to reach VeryDarkMan, the activist ignored the singer’s intervention.
She said:
“Guys, I’m going to attach the video right now. You see that Peter, young guy that scammed me? I was the one that called Peter. I was pregnant then. This is my baby.
“Guys, I was pregnant. I called Peter and was crying over how I was scammed $60,000. Peter said okay, he’s going to talk to VeryDarkMan. I begged him to talk to VeryDarkMan.”
Woman recalls Peter’s support for VDM
The woman further claimed that Peter had previously shown support for VeryDarkMan when the activist was arrested.
According to her, Peter used his social media platform to call for VeryDarkMan’s release and appealed to the EFCC over his detention.
She questioned why VeryDarkMan would allegedly refuse to allow Peter to speak now that the singer is publicly addressing the P-Square controversy.
She said:
“Only for VeryDarkMan to ignore Peter. Ah, that guy is wicked. Now Peter was one of the people when they arrested VeryDarkMan that used this platform.
“Guys, I mean Peter posted on his page for EFCC to free VeryDarkMan.”
“Allow him to talk”
The woman urged VeryDarkMan to give Peter an opportunity to explain his position rather than dismissing his side of the story.
She argued that Peter had previously used his influence to support VDM and should now be given the same opportunity to speak.
“VeryDarkMan, ha na, not now that this man is coming out to talk. This is the first time this man is coming out to talk. Allow him to talk na,” she said.
She subsequently described VeryDarkMan as “wicked” while maintaining that she would provide records to support her claims.
However, the allegations made by the woman in the viral video have not been independently verified.
Her intervention comes amid renewed public attention on the long-running dispute involving Peter Okoye, his twin brother Paul Okoye and other members of the P-Square family.
The former music duo enjoyed years of success before their relationship deteriorated and they eventually went their separate ways. Their subsequent disagreements have continued to generate intense reactions from fans, celebrities and social media users.
