Nigerian music superstar Davido has stirred fresh controversy on social media after taking a swipe at the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) chairman, MC Oluomo, over the ongoing dispute surrounding the union’s suspension in Osun State.
The drama began after Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke ordered the suspension of NURTW activities across motor parks in the state. The governor also directed security agencies to stop the collection of transport levies and arrest anyone operating under the union during the suspension.
Reacting to the government’s decision, MC Oluomo, through his deputy, insisted that the Osun State Government had no constitutional power to suspend the union’s operations.
Davido, who is Governor Adeleke’s nephew, quickly weighed in on the issue with a sarcastic post aimed at the transport union leader. The award-winning singer mocked MC Oluomo’s communication skills, a remark that immediately triggered mixed reactions across social media.
The singer had earlier responded to the APC’s appointment of Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma as chairman of the party’s campaign council for the upcoming Osun governorship election. While acknowledging his family connection to the governor through his wife, Davido maintained that the political contest would ultimately be decided at the polls.
This is not the first time the Afrobeats star has openly expressed his political views. Over the years, Davido has actively supported his uncle, Governor Ademola Adeleke, and has frequently spoken out on political matters affecting Osun State and Nigeria.
His latest comments have once again placed him at the center of political conversations, with many Nigerians debating the singer’s outspoken involvement in national issues.
